Back in Greece!

We are back on board!

We arrived less than 2 weeks ago but it feels longer!

We have been working as much as we can to have Ambrym back on the water as soon as possible.

There are so many things to do! The most urgent ones - and the ones that had to be done before launching were: antifouling and refitting the windlass (which is sitting on top a table right now... and we will go nowhere without and anchor winch!)

Antifouling is almost done. It's been an awful work of sanding, sanding, sanding, grinding, filling some gaps, sanding again and then painting and more painting. But by now, with only 1 coat of paint to go, she looks stunning. It's a pity that the work will remain underwater and no visible!!!

Windlass... that one it's being a pain. We found out that it had been working without oil for long so the gears where destroyed. We ordered replacements but they don't seem to fit 100% so Lloyd has been fighting with it and still going! Hopefully we will sort it out soon...

Apart from that we have replaced the old service batteries, ordered solar panels, cleaned a lot, fixed minor things, re-painted part of the mast, repaired the toilet, killed some ants, worked on some electrics...

and also made a good use of our new folding bikes, ate some icecreams, went swimming in the nearby beaches, enjoyed sunsets, tried to stay awake and watch movies, researched a lot...

has it really been less that 2 weeks???
